Restaurant Realty Company recently sold the Purple Rose Mexican Restaurant, and the property it is situated on, in Fort Bragg, California.
The seller, Greg Dougherty, opened the Purple Rose with his partner in 1985. They based the concept on their restaurant called Bueno Nalo, which they owned in Waimanalo, Oahu, prior to moving to Fort Bragg. In Fort Bragg, the Purple Rose became an institution for locals in search of good Mexican food, good beer, and good company.
The restaurant has borne witness to generations of Fort Bragg residents growing up. And in fact, the buyer of Purple Rose, Joshua Coate, is a longtime Fort Bragg resident himself.
Between stints in Arizona, Josh worked at the North Coast Brewery as the general manager, for a combined total of seven years. Taking ownership of the Purple Rose constitutes the fulfillment of a dream for him and ensures that the Purple Rose will maintain its status as a pillar of the Fort Bragg community.
Both seller and buyer are delighted that the transfer of ownership worked out this way.
